Half of Army’s Trucks are Duff

"MORE than HALF the Army's vital armoured vehicles in Afghanistan are "not fit for purpose".
Shock new figures leaked to The Sun reveal scores are out of action while being repaired or refurbished.
They include up to 180 crucial Mastiff and Ridgeback vehicles which ministers vowed would protect Our Boys from the growing threat of roadside bombs.
And just 358 of the Army's 653 lightly-armoured Snatch Land Rovers are serviceable."

Radicalised in London, trained in The Yemen.
So what's the point in our troops remaining in Afghanistan?
While our boys are are being killed and maimed in Afghanistan in a totally useless and unnecessary war plots are being carried out here at home.

Clearly we need to concentrate our efforts in routing out the potential terrorists in our own backyard.
Thanks to our present governments immigration policy it won't be easy but it has to be done.

While I do not support the war at all like most of the nation I fully support our troops who are merely carrying out orders and have no choice but to obey.

LABOUR MP QUENTIN DAVIES: £20,000 EXPENSE CLAIM

TURNCOAT Labour MP Quentin Davies tried to claim more than £20,000 for work including renovating a bell tower at his country mansion, it emerged yesterday.

Mr Davies – a former Tory MP now minister in charge of defence equipment at a time when British troops complain they are being crippled by shortages – handed the expenses bill to Commons authorities in February this year. He wrote then that it was a “very exceptional” bill but “very essential”.

GORDON BROWN CRITICISED FOR LATE CONDOLENCES

"THE families of three soldiers killed in action since Gordon Brown became Prime Minister have waited at least two years for letters of condolence from him, it emerged yesterday.

Trooper Sadler’s father, Ian, said he received an undated, handwritten letter from Mr Brown on November 17 along with a typed apology from Downing Street permanent secretary Jeremy Haywood.
Mr Sadler said: “Nearly two years later and the PM hasn’t apologised, just his aide. It goes to show what this present administration thinks of our soldiers".

Bin Laden - Dead or Alive

Gordon Brown has made fresh calls this week for the capture of Osama Bin Laden.
I think that would be difficult Mr Brown as I have no doubt at all that Osama Bin Laden has been dead for years.
I've always felt it, but there is now evidence to back this up...

Iraq inquiry: What exactly will Sir John Chilcot's inquiry achieve?

"Sir Christopher Meyer, then Britain's ambassador to Washington, suggested that a deal to invade Iraq may have been "signed in blood" by George Bush and Tony Blair in 2002.
There will doubtless be many more revelations, but what will be done as a consequence?
Sir John has already said that the inquiry is not a court of law and that nobody is on trial.
What, therefore, is its purpose? "

What an Insult to the Dead: Brown Accused of New Iraq Cover-Up!!

"Protocols' on the release of information have given civil servants and witnesses nine separate grounds on which to block the publication of damaging details.
The revelation came on the day that senior civil servants gave damning evidence
to the inquiry which showed that Tony Blair had lied, lied and lied again about the Iraq War.
They said that ten days before the invasion the then Prime Minister knew that Saddam Hussein had no way of using weapons of mass destruction"

Tony Bliar took this counry into an illegal war while the other parties, the UN and the EU turned the other cheek, we all knew that already.
The inquiry just backs it up with evidence.
It has also become clear that Bliar was far from being George Bush's poodle.
He wanted the war as much as Bush for his own personal gain, both power and money.

If Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction then sending our troops into his lair without the proper eqipment was the most immoral thing the nation could do. If Saddam had chemical and biological weapons he would have used them on the advancing British troops. If he didn't have them, which turned out to be the case, the nation had no business invading Iraq.

Saddam Hussein was left dangling at the end of a rope for his crimes, does B liar deserve any less?

Bob Ainsworth criticises Barack Obama over Afghanistan

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones Bob.
You're a joke, I sincerely hope this latest blunder leads to your resignation.

Daily Mirror Does U Turn

Does anybody remember the "Not in My Name" petition started by the Daily Mirror when we declared war on Iraq?
I signed it myself.
Well now they are supporting the war in Afghanistan.

British soldiers are fighting for a reason.

If we are to believe the official version of events, which I never will, the London tube was blown up by four "British Muslims" armed with home made bombs made from curry powder. They didn't need any training at all to jump on a train armed with home made bombs. If Al Quaeda was behind the bombings don't you think it would have been a little more sophisticated?
And if it was so easy for these four young muslims to do this why haven't we seen a similar attack on other UK targets?
Our beloved PM has his own agenda for keeping our boys in Afghanistan and it has nothing at all to do with making this country safer.

If this war is so vital why are only seven of the Army's 248 most senior officers serving in the strife-torn republic?

I used to be a "Mirror" reader but these days I look to the internet for news.
With people like Julia Middleton of Common Purpose controlling the media, particularly the BBC, I don't feel I can trust all I read in the press or on TV.

Stop the War

Very few people in the UK understand just what it is we are doing in Afghanistan and I'm one of them.
I don't accept it's making this country safer, in fact I believe the opposite to be true.

One of the most startling facts I came across recently is shown on Page 194 of the following document, the World Drug Report 2009 provided by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

In 2001, the year we went to war, there was a huge reduction in Opium Poppy Cultivation in Afghanistan.
But since then there has been a steady increase and its now at record numbers.

World Drug Report

And this revelation courtesy of The Independent...

"The opium issue remains a central part of the Government's argument for Britain's presence in Afghanistan. But the war on drugs is failing, with Afghanistan now holding a virtual monopoly on the world's opium supply in a trade that is "a well-funded threat to the health of nations" and has flourished due to "benign neglect, incompetence and corruption", according to the latest report on the drug problem in Afghanistan by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

It reveals that opium production – which is bankrolling the efforts of the Taliban – has rocketed from 200 tons in 1980 to 6,900 tons in 2009. During that time, Afghanistan's share of the world market has risen from 20 per cent to more than 90 per cent".

So who exactly is controlling the drug trade in Afghanistan?

How difficult is it to take a flame thrower to a field of poppies?
